Reconstruction of the 1862-1863 archaeological season carried on by Lugi Vassalli in Dra Abu el-Naga (West Bank of Luxor). Most of the objects he discovered were located through researches in the archives of the Egyptian Museum of Cairo. That result brought to make fresh and interesting considerations on the end of 17th Dynasty when Thebes was struggling against the Hyksos. The main hypothesis is that Vassalli excavated a necropolis where members of the royal entourage of the late 217th Dynasty were buried.
