Information technology, digital services and innovations in transportation systems are defining a brand-new mobility demand. In order to shape a more sustainable future for transportation, one of the most complex challenges is to understand, predict and eventually foster people’s mobility behaviors. This working paper investigates how it’s possible to highlight and model new transportation behavioural patterns by defining a Human Centered Transportation Taxonomy and how to influence new habits through different behavior change techniques.This paper contributes to the debate about what citizens (transportation users) envision for the future of mobility through a specific survey and what motivates them to different choices regarding transportation. Starting from the results of the applied research project TrafficO2, we introduce the pilot project MUV, a digital service conceived to transform driver behaviors through a game that mixes digital and physical experiences.
