The Treaty of Bucharest was signed on May 1918 between Romania and the Central Powers. The Treaty was ratified by the Romanian Chamber and Senate but it was never signed by King Ferdinand I. In October 1918 the Treaty was denounced by the Romanian Government and then its substantial provisions were nullified by the Treaty of Versailles. The paper analyses the main provisions of the Treaty of Bucharest and annexed Agreements and retraces the course of Romanian politics between 1883 and 1918 by examining other relevant treaties such as the Treaty with Austria-Hungary (1883) and the Political and Military Conventions with the Entente Powers (1916).
