In the recent debate, the nexus between the study of population movements caused by climate change or occurring for environmental reasons has taken on a new significance in politics and the media and has become a subject for analysis in the scientific world. This paper takes into account the fact that the decision to migrate is very often conditioned by several factors, which may be of a personal, or economic nature, or connected to relationships. The environmental and climatic aspect may be a direct cause or may indirectly affect other aspects very often conditioned by different factors, i.e. personal, economic, relationships and the environmental and climatic aspect can be a direct cause or indirectly affect other aspects. An aspect that will be looked at in this paper is the analysis of the migration phenomenon associated with climate-environmental changes and the concept of vulnerability. Post-disaster migration will also be analysed as a response to climatic-environmental changes, that is, as one of the possible ways in which populations or individuals adapt to such changes or, alternatively, exploit the opportunities that these events generate. This paper, therefore, does not simply intend to highlight a current problem, but to demonstrate that climatic-environmental aspects, together with other variables, may also have a role in determining important population shifts.
