Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is changing the way we live wielding a strong impact on leisure time today. People use the Web for different purposes: work, education, or information but a growing number of individuals uses it as a source of pleasure, spending their free time in virtual leisure spaces, games, chat rooms, social-networks or meeting places. Since nowadays the much more widespread leisure-seeking in virtual space influences the Internet usage, it becomes interesting concentrate upon risks linked to the abuse of Internet in everyday life. This survey aims to explore in a group of 568 university students of Enna (Sicily) how the use/abuse of Internet varies on the basis of gender, age, profession, motivation on Web usage, online socialization activities, social and emotional Self-efficacy using the most popular techniques of analysis of relations.
