The article is a general and updated overview of painting in ancient Egypt. A new theory on the perception of colors in ancient Egypt is given on the basis of Tiradritti F. (2008). In the article (258-260) is also expressed the idea, since then accepted by several recently scholars and confirmed by recent discoveries in Tel Kabri (Cline, Eric H., Assaf Yasur-Landau and Andrew Koh. 2017. The absolute chronology of the Middle Bronze age palace at Tel Kabri: implications for Aegean-style wall paintings in the Eastern Mediterranean, JAEI 13: 43-47), that the paintings of Tell el-Dab’a have to be considered a local and not an Aegean production.
