Results of experimental tests on reinforced concrete columns confined with PBO fabric embedded in FRCM jacketing are presented. More specifically, initially results on square and rectangular specimens of dimensions 200x200x600 mm and 200x400x600 mm wrapped with PBO-FRCM and subjected to uniaxial compression are presented, in order to derive the constitutive law of the confined concrete and to prove the efficiency of the confining system against the behavior of unreinforced specimens. Then test on columns with the same cross section dimensions and confining system subject to axial load and bending moments are reported and discussed. The effectiveness of the confinement system is shown by comparing the experimental results with those of unconfined specimens.
