The subject of the study are the images of the migration that can be taken from the articles published in 2019 in two online Italian newspapers, each with a different political orientation, the first on the right, the second oriented towards the center-left. In each article I identified: frame, theme(s), declarations/assessments/descriptions of facts, tone and terms particularly connoted. Among the results: the most widespread frame in the first newspaper can be defined as Sovereignism; and in the second, Strength and centrality of associationism, of the European Union and of International humanitarian organizations. The first newspaper tends to consider migrants as an indistinct category; conversely, in the second customization is quite frequent. On the positions of the Catholic Church in this matter, the first newspaper claims its transcendent character: the Church should not deal with “worldliness” but with the “spiritual sphere”; the second, on the contrary, with the immanent trait: good and justice must be achieved in this world and the prelates have this objective.

Abstract
On the positions of the Catholic Church in this matter, the first newspaper claims its transcendent character: the Church should not deal with “worldliness” but with the “spiritual sphere”; the second, on the contrary, with the immanent trait: good and justice must be achieved in this world and the prelates have this objective.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
