PROGETTO PER IL FARO DI CAPO SANTA CROCE DI AUGUSTA.

The project described in this essay has been submit for the Notice of Race "Country Value - LIGHTHOUSES, TOWERS AND COASTAL BUILDINGS" organized by the Mariptim State Propriety Agency on 28/09/2017 in order to aim the structure of the Augusta’s Capo Santa Croce’ Lighthouse recovering and enhancing; with this writing we want to share with the public our project proposal that has been named the winner of the aforementioned announcement. The suggested design idea aims to provide a specific form of hospitality to support traditional hotel, extra-hotel and hospitality services, a wide range of socio-cultural real, recreational and discovering territory services, resources and local products; from this point of view, an intervention was proposed aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and attractiveness of the context in which the Lighthouse stands. The project involves a redevelopment of the entire green park area with the introduction of a removable bioclimatic greenhouse (provided with an integrated photovoltaic system), the planting of various shrub species, the installation of platforms and removable accessories that allow diversification of use of the structure depending on the season. As far as existing buildings are concerned, for them a building destination is envisaged for various services and support and a tourist-hotel function. As far as the outside is concerned, from an architectural point of view, the following are planned: the replacement of the entire paving, the recovery of the external cladding and the painting and restoration of the stone elements of the cornices, the moldings and the segments of the small connecting bridge .
