We must reject competition and the society of knowledge. Civil cohabitation, solidarity, diffuse culture, and militant commitment should become the drivers of a new encounter between pedagogy and politics on the terrain of the humanly human.

Abstract
As politics seem to be relegated to an increasingly ancillary role to the strong powers, economy and the media, pedagogy seems to have forgotten its important function as a transformational practice and an emancipating strategy, as an organizer of knowledge and a promoter of the development of all students. Education thus runs the risk of being reduced to mere technicality and purely practice for the reproduction of what exists. Only in a democratic, libertarian and liberating perspective can pedagogy and politics retrieve their ancestral bond and revitalize the role of culture, active citizenship, and effective reciprocity. Dialogue within Western tradition, put in further jeopardy by the modes of communication imposed by the pandemic, can still open up paths to awareness, social mobility, and authentic respect of all differences. The bond between pedagogy and politics needs to be reknotted to build a democratic and culturally elevated society, rejecting subalternity both to power and to other disciplines, even cognate ones. We must reject competition and the society of knowledge. Civil cohabitation, solidarity, diffuse culture, and militant commitment should become the drivers of a new encounter between pedagogy and politics on the terrain of the humanly human.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
