Today, the pedagogical paradigm is characterised by a technologisation of education which privileges the practices of didactic empiricism, and encloses educational activity within preconceived schemata. In this context, it is necessary to revisit Freire’s pedagogical, political and cultural philosophy. To obtain a democratic form of pedagogy, uncorrupted by the logic of power, attention must be paid to marginalised, excluded and different subjects, and thus return to education its strategic role in critical emancipation; its justification, its sense of belonging and indignation when dealing with social injustice.

Abstract
