In recent times a new paradigm is mostly used in the so-called “human development approach”. The approach has been developed in a variety of theories, social justice, social sciences and in educational sciences, too. When we talk about the capability in the education sector, it is clear we are still in a very early stage of the developments. The economist philosopher Amartya Sen and philosopher Martha Nussbaum are the pioneers who have significantly developed it. The capability approach is an important and emergent theoretical framework about “human wellbeing”, that is, ‘what people are able to do and to be, the kind of life they are effectively able to live.
