Abstract

The research on the Casa della Gazzella at Roman Agrigentum led us to investigate wooden boxes containing artefacts belonging to the past century excavations, among which fragments of painted plaster come from the Quartiere Ellenistico Romano. We have been able to put them in relation with fragments from the Casa della Gazzella. Other fragments of painted plaster show an ionian kymation with remains of human figure decoration: we tried to reconstruct their original height with the help of proportional and modular considerations. Archaeometric analysis by CNR-IBAM brought us to discover the use of cinnabar in some of these fragments.
