Analysing the plans of the best preserved late Roman villas in Sicily (Piazza Armerina, Patti, Caddeddi), we aim to find planimetric and metrological constants capable of explaining their design procedures. The method is based on the one that guided by Pinho and Xavier for some Late Antique villas in Portugal: it starts from the use of square grids and geometric modules, used as an architectural key.
