Abstract
Proton therapy is a kind of radiation therapy for cancer treatment that uses high-energy proton beams in-stead of the conventional photon (X or )-rays or electron beams. The CATANA facility at LNS INFN Catania allows to treat eye tumours by means of a 62 MeV proton beam delivered by a Superconducting Cyclotron. In this paper, we present the application of the ALARA principles, considering the employed radiation pro-tection standards for workers and patients.File in questo prodotto:
