Results of monotonic and cyclic compression tests on medium size specimens of circular and prismatic low strength (15 MPa) concrete columns wrapped with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (CFRCM) are reported. Unconfined and confined specimens with two different confinement volumetric ratios have been considered. Moreover, in order to investigate sharp edge effects on elements confined with CFRCM, two series of square and rectangular specimens have been tested, having rounded corner radius of 15mm and 30 mm. The comparison of stress-strain curves of the unconfined and confined specimens shows the ability of the composite to confer strength and ductility to the concrete, stressing the role played by cross section shape and corner radius.

Abstract
Results of monotonic and cyclic compression tests on medium size specimens of circular and prismatic low strength (15 MPa) concrete columns wrapped with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (CFRCM) are reported. Unconfined and confined specimens with two different confinement volumetric ratios have been considered. Moreover, in order to investigate sharp edge effects on elements confined with CFRCM, two series of square and rectangular specimens have been tested, having rounded corner radius of 15mm and 30 mm. The comparison of stress-strain curves of the unconfined and confined specimens shows the ability of the composite to confer strength and ductility to the concrete, stressing the role played by cross section shape and corner radius.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
