This research focuses on the investigation of the use of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) in the historic centre of Palermo. A face-to-face questionnaire-based survey took place to in the study area and 300 questionnaires were finally collected and analysed during the period February–March 2020. More specifically, the survey was addressed to the people who use via Maqueda (one of the most important pedestrian streets in Palermo) and its impact area (radius of about 2 km having as a centre the specific pedestrian street) for their trips. The findings of the research can support the effort of city authorities towards the design, implementation and evaluation of strategies concerning socio-eco-friendly transport systems like the PMVs.
