Abstract: On March 8, 1943, Celia Viñas arrived in Almería to take up the Chair of Language and Literature, a position she had unanimously earned. This event not only transformed her life, but also the lives of many others. At a time when women were often relegated to secondary roles, Celia stood out with talent and determination, facing prejudice, envy, and discrimination. Her story is a tribute to knowledge, courage, and a passion for teaching, with a special emphasis on her respect for young peo- ple.The aim of this research is to delve deeper into the life and work of this educator and writer who, in post-war Spain, stood out professionally despite the unjust silence surrounding her work. After a general introduction, the study analyzes the principles of her pedagogical thinking, influenced by the Institución Libre de Enseñanza. This approach allows us to understand both her educational philosophy and her lit- erary output, which developed outside the official currents of her time. To carry out this work, her letters, documents, and the most recent essays by researchers who have studied the life and work of this author –Catalan by birth and Almerían by adoption– have been examined. Her legacy remains a benchmark of commitment to education and culture.
