The UPADSD2 (Urban Planning and Architectural Design for Sustainable Development) conference which takes place in Palermo is at its second edition after the one that took place in Lecce in 2015, recording a remarkable success through organizational participation of Salento University, under the auspices of the Italian Society of Geography. The Urban Transit and Sustainable Networks (UTSN) conference takes place for the first time in Palermo and aims to networking the knowledges of the relationship between cities and transport in terms of policies and good practices concerning the environmental, social and economic sustainability. The main theme of the conferences is “BRIDGING”, in the sense of connecting people, cities and territories facing problems and proposing solutions for bringing together and comparing world societies at multiscale level of analysis and interventions.
