Employing an anthropological perspective, I will focus on the idea of oblivion and its representation in Latin literature. Loss of memory 'creeps' into the human mind and is reflected in physical places. In fact, oblivion takes many metaphorical shapes: an interrupted sentence, an empty landscape, an unfinished town, an incomplete embroidery.
