Aim of the present work was to analyze the results reported in the main studies about prevalence and characteristics of “Behavioural Addictions” in adolescent people. The main contributions of the studies have focused on Gambling Disorder, Internet Addiction, and Love Addiction. Behavioural addictions result prevalent and rising among youth. Adolescent vulnerability, environmental and family factors, personality features and peer group are common risk factors in development of problematic behaviours and this is particularly true in the three pathological conditions examined, although each of them in a different way. Behavioural Addictions can affect adolescents leading to adverse consequences such as: depression, suicidal ideation and suicide attempts, anxiety and self-injury. More researches in this field could help clinicians in term of prevention and treatments targeted for youth in order to improve quality of life in both adolescents and their family.
