In almost all the Mediterranean countries, users store water resources in private tanks usually located on the rooftops. These local reservoirs are usually connected to the water distribution network (WDN). In such cases, network-operating conditions can be far from design ones, thus, specific models have to be developed to correctly simulate the WDN.
