Between Past and Present, the Color of the Rural Villages of Central Sicily. The Case Study of Borgo Baccarato. This paper focuses on the case study of Baccarato village, built under the Land Reform Law of 1950 and abandoned in the late 70s. It focuses on specific aspects of such structures - such as their colours - which are an expression of cultural identity and in strict relationship with landscape. Rediscovery and preserve the memory of this valuable Sicilian site can be strategic for a revaluation of tourism in this area, which can find also count on its privilegedposition next to the architectural and archaeological sites of Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina and Aidone-Morgantina.
