This paper aims to provide new perspectives on reading poetry with the support of Relevance Theory and Rhetoric. While studying dramatic monologue, we will focus on the poem as a persuasive text and on the characteristics of enunciation. Last, two poems by José Hierro and Pedro Provencio will be analyzed.
