Phoenician and Punic inscriptions from Sicily are investigated in order to present an overview of recent discoveries. New data from Mozia, Lilybaeum, Panormos and from other centers of the island testify both to the diffusion of writing and also to its use for everyday matters. A critical review of recent literature is added.
