The whole of the buildings constituting the Norman Arab itinerary represents an exceptional universal value as example of cohabitation and interaction among different cultural components of heterogeneous historical and geographical origin (cultural syncretism). Such phenomenon has produced an original architectural style in which are melted byzantine, islamic and romanesque elements, admirably able to appear each time in unique combinations, of sublime artistic value and extraordinarily unitary.
