This contribution examines some of the critical material published to mark Leonardo Sciascia’s centenary (2021). An overview of this material seeks to show the extent of the dynamism and vitality which distinguishes the writer from Racalmuto, now considered a twentieth-century classic. However this focus also seeks to some extent to examine the state of the discipline of Sciascia Studies, identifying not only constants which now are well-established, but above all identifying new additions, deviations, and unsettling interpretations, as well as some ingenuousness and missteps taken by the author of A ciascuno il suo over the course of his long career.

Abstract
This contribution examines some of the critical material published to mark Leonardo Sciascia’s centenary (2021). An overview of this material seeks to show the extent of the dynamism and vitality which distinguishes the writer from Racalmuto, now considered a twentieth-century classic. However this focus also seeks to some extent to examine the state of the discipline of Sciascia Studies, identifying not only constants which now are well-established, but above all identifying new additions, deviations, and unsettling interpretations, as well as some ingenuousness and missteps taken by the author of A ciascuno il suo over the course of his long career.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
