In this chapter we present an experimental activity conducted with 10 teachers in several high-schools in the South of Italy. The activity deals with the study of some geometric loci and is based on the use of a Dynamic Geometry System on the one hand and on properties of geometric transformations on the other hand. Here we explain the motivations at the base of our activity and show the contents, the modalities of building up the activity and the results of the teaching experiment.

Abstract

In this chapter we present an experimental activity conducted with 10 teachers in several high-schools in the South of Italy. The activity deals with the study of some geometric loci and is based on the use of a Dynamic Geometry System on the one hand and on properties of geometric transformations on the other hand. Here we explain the motivations at the base of our activity and show the contents, the modalities of building up the activity and the results of the teaching experiment.
