In this work, a parallel procedure based on the domain decomposition method is presented. The initial system is split into sub-systems so that a suitable linear combination of their solutions returns the global one. The main advantage of the proposed algorithm is its scalability, as depicted by the speed-up and efficiency analysis. This theoretical study involving the latency of time due to communications exhibits no bottle neck. The aforementioned procedure is applied to propagation of elastic waves into a layered heterogeneous medium.

Abstract
