With the reintroduction of civic education at school in 2019, a long-standing relationship between this teaching, which was first introduced in 1958 by the then minister Aldo Moro, and history as a discipline capable of enhancing its most relevant aspects was interrupted. The essay reconstructs this event by focusing on the current situation and the admittedly problematic relationship between citizen education, history teaching, historical literacy processes and the politicisation of the past.
Con la reintroduzione dell’educazione civica a scuola nel 2019 si è interrotta una relazione di lungo periodo tra questo insegnamento, introdotto per la prima volta nel 1958 dall’allora ministro Aldo Moro, e la storia come disciplina in grado di valorizzarne gli aspetti più rilevanti. Il saggio ricostruisce questa vicenda concentrandosi sulla situazione attuale e sul rapporto, invero problematico, tra educazione del cittadino, insegnamento della storia, processi di alfabetizzazione storica e politicizzazione del passato.
