Burnout is becaming a social pathology of increasing incidence in the working context. Burnout is a syndrome of great complexity in causal factors, characterized by exaustion and psicological failure; it has been considered a phenomenon linked exclusively to the helping professions. In this paper an investigation was carried out in different social and working contexts, emphasizing the magnitude of the phenomenon and sustaining the idea that the syndrome is not exclusively related to the helping professions. Results are discussed.
