1937, is one of the riddles associated witht the presence of the so called Eteocretan Language. Paying particular attention to the intuition of C.H. Gordon, this work sets out to investigate if the inscription conceals a bilingual text written in Greek and Eteocretan. Above all, the aim of this study is to examine the Eteocretan as a North-West Semitic Language. At the end of the research, new readings and interpretations allow to find in the inscription a true bilingual text, written by a stone-cutter who recorded a Semitic text beside the corresponding Greek version.
