The forward part of the new 4π detector Chimera has been recently installed at Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) in Catania. Beams of 112Sn and 124Sn at 35 MeV/nucl., useful for physics, were delivered on March 2000. Intermediate mass fragments (IMF) production and isospin effects in nuclear multifragmentation were investigated in reverse kinematics using 27Al, 58,64Ni targets. A good on line isotopic identification of IMF and charged light particles (LCP) was obtained using ΔE-E, ΔE-Time of flight (TOF) and pulse shaping methods. Some preliminary results obtained on both elemental and isotopic distribution of light fragments show sizeable entrance channel isospin dependence.
